For those of you who can't wait until 17-18 May 2024, here's a sneak peak of the layout of the villages and other great experiences you can expect as part of the inaugural BSides Adelaide event.
INFORMATION BEFORE YOU ATTEND THE EVENT
BSides is a community-driven framework for building events for and by information security community members. Our event focus is to: PASSIONATELY COLLABORATE, EDUCATE, MOTIVATE & COMMUNICATE. We will be following an open-villages format, where a variety of different rooms and spaces will be transformed into hands-on cyber security events featuring passionate advocates from across the amazing cyber industry.
Friday 17 to Saturday 18 May 2024.
Event will officially open at 9.30am Friday 17 May. Villages will close at 5pm Friday.
Villages will reopen at 9am Saturday and close at 4pm.

Lot Fourteen is an Adelaide technology and innovation precinct, featuring a variety of different spaces that will be hosting BSides villages. Please plan for plenty of walking between event spaces and dress according to the weather on the day. Adelaide Forecast - Bureau of Meteorology (bom.gov.au)
The University of Adelaide campus and Ayers House, both opposite Lot Fourteen, will also feature significantly in the BSides Adelaide event. You will receive further direction upon registration.
Registration will open at 9am Friday 17 May and 9am Saturday 18 May. You will be able to register throughout each day until 3pm.
Please report to the signed registration marquee at the front of Lot Fourteen, to collect your BSides Adelaide welcome pack. Be prepared to present your ticket and if a student ticket holder, display your student ID on check-in to the event.
BSides Adelaide is a ticketed event. You will need to display a valid ticket at the registration marquee and collect a BSides Adelaide 2024 lanyard. Without the lanyard, you will not be able to participate in many of the BSides Adelaide events.
Ticketed training sessions will occur on Thursday 16 May 2024 as a pre-BSides event. If you have purchased a ticket for training on 16 May you will receive a separate email with details for that event.
Merchandise that has been pre-ordered can be collected from the BSides Adelaide marketplace. You will be directed to the marketplace during the event.
A laptop or computer that is wifi enabled.
If you wish to ensure a high quality of internet connection, you may wish to bring your own internet dongle or connect through your phone. However, wifi will be available in most villages.
A raincoat, hat and warm clothes. Although most villages will be inside, it is necessary to move between villages without overhead cover. Some villages are not heated, and warm clothing is advised.
By Car: There are many on-street and off-street parking options near Lot Fourteen. The closest are https://www.wilsonparking.com.au/parking-locations/south-australia/adelaide-cbd/lot-fourteen-car-park/ and

If you’re booking a ride share, simply ask your driver to enter Lot Fourteen into their GPS. Drop-off is via Frome Road.
By Bicycle: Bike-friendly footpaths along Frome Road and bike lanes on North Terrace and the River Torrens Linear Park, make getting here easy. Parking for bikes can be found along Frome Road and North Terrace. Lot Fourteen recommends all users to supply their own bike locks.
By Public Transport: The Botanic Gardens North Terrace tram stop is located right on the doorstep to Lot Fourteen. If you prefer the bus, there are multiple stops nearby on North Terrace and Frome Road. The closest train station to Lot Fourteen is Adelaide Railway Station. We are excited to inform you that the BSides Adelaide 2024 Capture the Flag (CTF) team registrations are now open!
The inaugural CTF is happening across both Friday 17th and Saturday 18th May 2024 as part of the overall BSides Adelaide event. With a huge cash prize of AUD$5,000 up for grabs and serious bragging rights the winners will be happy little wombats!
Teams of one person up to four people are eligible to enter and use their cyber skills to solve challenges and find all the flags throughout the event. You must be present at BSides Adelaide and registered onsite to be eligible for the CTF. To win a prize you must also be present at the conclusion of the CTF on Saturday afternoon. A large number of flags require physical access onsite, including hardware needed to complete a number of challenges.
There is no entry fee or extra cost to participate in the CTF. However, all CTF team members and participants in the CTF must have a BSides Adelaide ticket. You must have registered as a team and agreed to the rules which will be issued at the event to participate and win prizes.
Registered BSides Adelaide ticketholders will have received details regarding CTF registration via email.
